Class Descriptions

TurboKick is one of the highest attended workouts in health clubs across the globe! An addictive workout that combines kickboxing, sport drills and hip hop in a party atmosphere, with a Tai-chi like cool down to add variety to your fitness program. It comes complete with an ultimate cardio challenge, a sport specific warm-up, and bouts of intense intervals of easy to follow turbo combinations.

PiYo is a fusion of Pliates and Yoga using heat building, strength, and balance positions and poses with movement to keep you moving. Great strength workout! Poses also help to keep muscles lean and improve range of motion on joints while giving core muscle stability and strength. Don’t need to be “flexy”, great for all levels of fitness!

Flow Yo is an integrated system that incorporates many different styles of eastern philosophies, including: Ashtanga yoga, mixed martial arts, and belly dancing. This system is comprised of five basic principles: 1) Proper Exercise, 2) Proper Diet, 3) Proper Breathing, 4) Concentration and Meditation, 5) Proper Relaxation. Flow Yo is a great way to rejuvenate, tone muscles, and bring calmness to the mind.

Step is still one of the most popular workouts in the world!! It has been around for decades and is improving all the time. Our Step class offers a cardio workout while focusing on layering moves to fit all levels of skill. Using a platform that can be lowered or raised to step on, this class promises you will break a sweat and feel successful.

Turbo Strength is a new "Groll Family Fitness" idea. It takes the best of TurboKick and mixes it with Strength training to provide a cardio workout with toning of muscles. This class allows you to focus on 30 minutes of each, TurboKick and Strength toning. Changing all the time adds a new flavor and sure to keep you coming.

Sculpt is an energetic Strength endurance training. We use bars, dumbbells and bands for a challenging muscle workout you will feel the next day.

Boot Camp - You never know where we might end up. We may be at the track running bleachers or on the cycles or in the studio doing plyometrics. You will push your limits and break through those stubborn plateaus!

Cycle / Abs - Get ready for a super workout for your heart! We work on heart rates and sweat!!! Finish with some abs that your back will thank you for.

Silver Sneakers Range of Motion – This class will help increase strength, movement, agility, balance, and coordination.

Silver Sneakers Cardio Circuit – This class adds more cardio and muscular endurance training. It is designed to increase cardio and muscular endurance with standing non-impact moves.

Silver Sneakers Yoga – This class offers a variety of safe and effective options designed to increase muscular endurance, flexibility, and balance.

Bits and Pieces – Fun fusion of strength and cardio, with a little cycling, step, toning, bosu, and more all rolled into an energy filled hour.

Tom Boots has been Swing Dancing for over 50 years and been in swing dance contests for much of that time. He was on Dance Fever in the 1980’s, which was judged by celebrities, and won the Christmastime Special. He was the National Champion at one time; and President of the LA Swing Club for 8 years and during that era taught in an LA Studio, teaching teachers how to teach swing better. His mentor was Dean Collins. Many people considered Dean to be the best swing dancer in the world during the 1930's and 40's when the competition was fierce. Tom studied in New York where Dean was based. Tom has graciously accepted an invitation to teach swing dancing at Groll Family Fitness. It will be Wednesday nights at 6:30. The class is for all ages and skill levels; and is free to members and non-members alike. Don’t let this unique opportunity pass you by. Bring a partner or come alone and join in the fun. We hope to see you there!
